News and Notes for This Week In Room 28
Great Field Trip last Friday. The kids were fantastic. Thank you to all of the chaperones for making
it a smooth, fun day!
Monday, April 4th: School Committee Presentation. If students are participating, please be at
school for 6pm and have transportation home by 7:30pm. If there are changes because of weather, I will
let you know ASAP. If you are not going
to be able to make it, please let me know so parts can be redistributed… but,
please try to come!
Thursday, April 7th: Report Cards!
Friday, April 8th: 6th graders from
Samoset will be coming down to discuss the middle school transition
Math:
- MULTIPLYING FRACTIONS TEST FRIDAY
- I can multiply fractions
- I can find the area of rectangle with fractional side lengths
- I can multiply mixed numbers
- I can use multiplication to scale or resize something
- I can solve problems involving multiplication of fractions
ELA
- This Week’s Story: Weslandia
- I can identify the narrative elements and theme of text and use to write a summary
- I can read and understand fantasy stories
- I can use context clues to determine meanings of words
- I can describe how the point of view of a story impacts the text and consider how the story would change if the point of view changes
- I can rewrite a story from a different point of view
- We will also be launching a Children’s Book Writing Unit
