In the Newberry winning, classic story, Holes, written by Louis Sachar, Stanley Yelnats is just an average kid who really doesn't have very good luck, thanks to his "good for nothing, pig-stealing" family.  The story takes place in and around Camp Green Lake during different points in history connected with Stanley's family.  When we meet Stanley (in the modern day), he has been sent away to Camp Green Lake- now a barren-desert-work-camp-for-boys, for committing a crime he didn't commit.  Stanley has to learn quickly to adapt, digging holes in the sand all day long looking for a buried treasure and trying to figure out relationships with difficult people.  Stanley eventually escapes so he can help a new friend and this turns his luck around and he finds the treasure everyone had been looking for…it turned out to be his great-grandfather's.  Through the many adventures and lessons of Stanley, the reader learns the valuable lesson that it is important to stand up and be true to your self

Multiplying Whole Numbers by Fractions

13 x 2/3 = 13 x 2 x 1/3

SO...

13 x 2 = 26

26 x 1 = 26

26 / 3 = 8 2/3
It's No Joke...
