Special Announcements

Autumn Celebration This Friday!
Friday, October 30th is packed with activities to celebrate the season!

  • Creative Arts Buddies: We will be meeting with Ms. Cruz’s class to read stories and do an activity (remember plastic bottles…paint, marker, scrap fabric, and google eye donations still needed).
  • Costume Parade: Students also be participating in the annual school-wide parade.  Those who do not celebrate Halloween do not need to participate.  No masks, weapons, face paint please.
  • Party in a Bag: We will also end the day with a Party in a Bag.  Students are invited to bring in a small bag of their own treat to enjoy.  Due to severe food allergies, the treat that each student brings will not be shared with other students.  Students are not required to bring a bag if they choose not to.

Parents are welcome to join us for any of the activities…
please contact me by email if you’d like to come in.

NO SCHOOL TUESDAY - PLEASE VOTE!!

Scholastic Book Orders

A book order form from Scholastic Book Club went home this past Friday.  It is not mandatory to purchase books though student purchases give points to classroom teachers to purchase new books and resources for their classrooms.  Order can be returned to Mr. M-H by November 9th or you can order online.  The website is on the order form.  My classroom code for Scholastic is G2CFF

Friendly Falcons Thanksgiving Food Drive

This year, Mr. Magierowski-Howe’s and Mrs. Lay’s classes will join to form the Friendly Falcons: Community Helpers.  This month, we will be coordinating and running a school-wide CANNED FOOD DRIVE to benefit Ginny’s Food Pantry in Leominster.  Students will be developing speeches, marketing posters, awards incentives, and planning calendars for this activity.

This will lead up to students taking a field trip to Ginny’s on Friday, November 20th to deliver the donations and prepare the food baskets to be given to those less fortunate.

We will be collecting items to make Thanksgiving baskets for families and to restock the diminishing supply in Ginny’s Food Pantry.

All non-perishable food items are greatly appreciated, but the following are target items that are one of the focuses of this project:

Soup- HIGH NEED                        Stuffing
Canned Vegetables                     Pie Crusts
Pie Filling                                      Spaghetti Sauce
Peanut Butter                              Macaroni & Cheese

More information about this project will come this week and throughout the month of November!
